


It seems clear that turning the knob on the overflow plate is supposed to lift and lower the stopper, but it's completely unclear to me what the orientation of the knob should be, and how the stopper is to be reinserted into the drain to get these two things to link together.

and there was no way to get the stopper out of the drain, that is, turning the knob on the overflow plate did nothing. When I got here, the stopper was out of the drain, indicating there are probably issues with it, but anyway, idiot soul that I am, I put the stopper back in the hole and filled the bath 3" to test it. Here is my gallery and it seems to be one of these, or a version of this kind of drain I'm staying at a place with a very nice bathtub/spa thing that has a stopper that is stumping me.
